Why is the Flag at Half Staff?

Please be advised that as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence perpetrated yesterday at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and in accordance with a Presidential proclamation, Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately until sunset, Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

These gubernatorial orders apply to:

1.  The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls.

2.  Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings.

Message from Aquarion Water Company

Please be informed that we are scheduled to begin our fall flushing program this Sunday night, October 14th.  The flushing will begin at the Turkey Hill Tank in Hingham, and then proceed from there to Hull and Cohasset.  We expect to be flushing the first routes in Hull sometime during the week of October 21st.

Water main/hydrant flushing activities will be conducted in the evening and early morning between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, to minimize the impacts to Aquarion customers.  This program is being undertaken to ensure customers continue to receive the highest quality water.

An electronic message board will be placed along Nantasket Avenue late next week, or early next week to inform customers in Hull.  We will also be placing an advertisement in the Hull Times next week and issuing a daily Code Red message to customers living on streets scheduled to be flushed.  In addition, customers can find out more about the flushing program and our daily schedule by going to our web site (www.aquarionwater.com).

We expect to be completed with the water mains in Hull by the first week in November.
