Why is the Flag at Half-Staff?




Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset at all state buildings on Saturday, April 20, 2019, the day of interment, in honor of Private First Class Zacharay Arsenault, United States Army, of Leominster, Massachusetts, who died on April 1, 2019 at Fort Irwin, California.

DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING & TOWN ELECTION! TUESDAY, APRIL 16TH IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE. **This applies to first time voters or residents new to the town. You can register online, by mail or in person. The Town Clerk's office will stay open until 8 p.m. on the last day. You may register to vote, change your address or check your voter status online at: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/

Town of Hull Chip Day



TOWN OF HULL CHIP DAY

The Department of Public Works is pleased to announce that the Spring Chip Day will be held from 8:00AM until NOON on Saturday April 27, 2019 at the Public Works Barn.
Residents may bring in tree limbs and brush (8-inch diameter or less only).

LEAVES, GRASS, VINES, STUMPS OR ANYTHING WITH A STUMP OR PORTION OF A STUMP ATTACHED TO IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Vehicles larger than a standard pick-up truck will not be allowed. Landscapers and contractors will be limited to one (1) pick-up truck only.

Participants should remain in their vehicles and let the DPW staff remove the limbs and brush from the vehicle.

There is NO CHARGE for this disposal but is open to Hull residents only.

Public Library Book Group Meeting


The Hull Library Book Group will meet Wednesday, April 17th at 2:30 on the second floor of the town library to discuss "Anything is Possible" by Elizabeth Strout. All are welcome.

Save the Date!!

 

The 375th committee is busy planning a celebration with a number of events.

 One date in particular August 17th, will be the highlight.

 A parade is planned starting at 11:00 AM from the Kenberma playground to the L St. Playground where a number of field activities, including local bands and a beer garden will be taking place.  More details will be coming shortly.

 All community groups are invited to participate in the parade and field activities.

 All 375th committee meetings are public and posted. The next meeting is April 16th at 6:00PM at Hull Town Hall.

Update on Aquarion Water Main Replacement


  
April 5, 2019  ~  UPDATE ON AQAURION WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT

1. Beach Avenue:
  • The Contractor has 2 crews working and has installed approximately 3,200 feet of water main to date, about 85% installed.
  • The Contractor will start testing sections of the line and disinfecting next week.
  • The Contractor will be working this Saturday, 4/6 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the area of W, X, and Y street, abutters have been notified.
  • It will take a week before the first section of main is tested, and once it passes, the Contractor will begin installing services.
2. Shallow Water Main – Phase 2:
  • The Contractor has set up the by-pass piping on Cadish Avenue, the Contractor will be connecting the temporary services next week.
  • Due to a failed water main shutdown at S Street, Contractor is scheduled to begin work at M Street.
  • A shutdown on Cadish Ave from M Street to P Street is scheduled for Monday, 4/6 from 9-2. Most customers are on bypass with temporary services and will not be impacted. Customers who lose water should contact the Contractor to be put on bypass.
  • When Aquarion can determine a way to shut main down at S Street, the Contractor will move back to that end of the project.

FY19 Actual Real Estate & Personal Property tax bills are due May 1, 2019 (fourth quarter bill).  If you need a copy of your bill for Fiscal Year 2019, please contact the Tax Collector's Office at 781-925-2251.

Please send all payments to the Tax Collector's Office, 253 Atlantic Avenue, Hull, MA  02045 or make payments in person at the Tax Collector's Office during normal business hours.  FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, WE HAVE INSTALLED A SECURE DROP BOX IN FRONT OF TOWN HALL WHERE YOU MAY LEAVE YOUR PAYMENT.
