PARK AND REC INFO - WHAT IS OPEN AND WHAT IS CLOSED

Park & Recreation went over the State guidelines for Phase 2 last night and we would like to let you know what is open and closed as of this time.

  • All Basketball Courts still remain closed
  • All playgrounds/structures meaning slides, swings, monkey bars etc., etc. still remain closed
  • Tennis and Pickle ball are allowed at the N Street & Central Ave courts.
  • Outdoor athletic fields shall be open and available for organized youth sports and adult sports activities and you must follow the social distance guidelines provided by the state
  • Group size is limited. Programs must separate participants into groups of no more the 12 participants, including coaches & staff. They must also fill out a permit with there plan on how they will adhere to the guidelines and submit to Park & Rec.
  • Inter-team games,scrimmages,and tournaments shall not be permitted for any organized sports.
  • Contact Sports (e.g. basketball,football,baseball,soccer, field hockey,lacrosse, hockey and other sports where ordinary play puts players in direct contact or close proximity) must limit activities exclusively to non contact drills and practices.
  • Walking,hiking,biking,running, land stewardship events (clean up events, community service projects, volunteer programming) and other activities (yoga,tai chi, ect) are allowable activities during phase 2 in parks and other designated areas such as rail trails,multi use paths, and bike paths again following the social distance guidelines.
Phase 2 is in place for a minimum of two more weeks. As we enter into phase 3 we will adjust as we can. Remember everything we are doing is to keep everyone safe. Please be patient and parents we ask you to share this information with your children.
