WHY IS THE FLAG AT HALF STAFF - MAY 29, 2017





Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until noon, full staff from noon until sunset on Monday, May 29th, 2017 in honor of Memorial Day.

HELP NEEDED


Help is needed to place flags at the cemetery for Memorial Day. If you can help with this effort, please arrive at the cemetery this Saturday, May 27th at 9AM.  The rain date to place the flags is Sunday, May 28th  at 9AM.

REMINDER - Everyone is Invited to attend 2nd Dedication of the Hull War Memorial Wall Plaques


The second Dedication of the Hull War Memorial Wall Plaques will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  This dedication honors the addition of 10 names to the Vietnam plaque, 53 names to the Korean plaque, 61 names to the WWII plaque and 32 names to the WWI plaque.  Guest speaker is General Richard "Butch" Neal, USMC (ret).

12th Annual Stand Down Event for Veterans

Update from Aquarion Water





UPDATE
Water has been restored the affected customers on G Street in Hull.
***************************************************************************
Aquarion Water crew is repairing a leak on G St that was found through leak detection efforts. We will have to shut the main to conduct the repair.

The following homes will be without water service: #1 to 23. It will affect homes on G street from Cadish Ave to Central Ave. No hydrants will be off and the shut-down will be approximately 4 hours beginning at 12:30.

UPCOMING ROADWORK


PUBLIC NOTICE
ROAD CONSTRUCTION - EXPECT DELAYS
 
Beginning on Monday, May 15th, T.L. Edwards Inc., working for the Town of Hull, will begin repaving Nantasket Avenue from A to H Street and Fitzpatrick Way from XY Street to the intersection of Spring Street near the Lifesaving Museum.
 
The project includes grinding the roadway surface down and repaving the road.  The existing failed sidewalk from A to H Street will be removed and new sidewalks including granite curbing and cement sidewalks will be installed.  The total project is scheduled to take 7 weeks.
 
Please add a few extra minutes for your morning commute.  We will do our best to keep traffic moving but you should expect and plan for delays.
 
We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience while the work is on-going.

Second night of Town Meeting will begin at 7:00 PM at Hull High School.  There are many more important articles to be voted on.

Temporary Railroad Bed Closure


Today, May 2nd, we will be closing the railroad bed along Beach Ave between M Street and V Streets using telephone poles to lay across the road.

This is an annual task.   This section of roadway is closed to through traffic from May 2nd until December 1st each year.
