Hull Firefighters Accepting Donations of Non-Perishable Food Items and Unwrapped Toys at the Annual Bonfire



Please join the Hull Firefighter's Local 1657 at the annual Thanksgiving Bonfire on Thursday November 28th, 2019 at 7:00 pm.  In an effort to assist members of the community, this year we will be accepting donations of non perishable food items and new unwrapped toys at the bonfire.  Please stop by the donation center set up at the bonfire and assist us in making the holidays brighter for those in need.  Any support is greatly appreciated.

HULL FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL TOY DRIVE
Hull Fire Department and Wellspring are joining forces to distribute toys for the Hull Fire Department Annual Toy Drive.
Hull Fire Department is the designated drop off location for the program. The start date for this great event is November 1, 2019 and the end date is December 20, 2019.
All donations must be in their original boxes and the items cannot be gift wrapped. We will be accepting toys for age groups, new born to fifteen years old.
Collecting toys is a great initiative for school groups, book groups, etc. Gift cards would also be appreciated.

Why is the Flag Flying at Half Staff?




Please be advised that as a mark of solemn respect for Firefighter Lieutenant Jason Menard of the Worcester Fire Department, who died tragically this morning, Wednesday, November 13, 2019, Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately, until further notice.

ADDITIONAL FALL 2019 CHIP DAY
Saturday November 9, 2019
8:00 a.m. until Noon

The Town of Hull’s Additional Chip Day will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

Chip Day is held at the DPW Barn, 9 Nantasket Avenue, across the street from Pizza Box.  Residents may bring in tree limbs and brush that are eight inches in diameter or smaller.  No leaves, grass, vines, or other yard waste will be accepted.  Vehicles larger than a standard pick-up truck will not be allowed.  Landscapers and Contractors are limited to one truckload.  Proof of Hull Residency is required.

Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, November 9, 2019, the date of interment, in honor of 1LT Joseph Finneran, USAAC, (KIA, Ploesti, Romania, 1943) of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts and a native of Needham, Massachusetts.

Remains of  1stLT Finneran, who was killed on August 1, 1943 when serving as crew member to the B-24 bomber “Ole Baldy” that was shot down that day during Operation Tidal Wave, will be laid to rest at the Mount Benedict Cemetery, 409 Corey Street, Boston, MA on this day.
