375th Committee Looking for Participants for the Parade and Field Day Celebration

Dear Local Organization, Board and Committees and Business,

As you likely know, the Town is celebrating its 375th Anniversary beginning in May at Town Meeting with the reading of a Proclamation. If you were around for the 350th or earlier anniversaries, you might recall how much fun and excitement there was to commemorate those events. We had a number of activities and by all accounts it was a great success.

And now we want to make the 375th even bigger and better!

There is a working committee that is busy planning events and we would love to have you join us for these events. We have a Parade and Field Day scheduled for Saturday, August 17th (rain date August 18th). The Parade will start off at 11 a.m. from the Kenberma Playground and go along Nantasket Ave. ending at the L Street Field for a day of fun for all ages from 12-5 p.m. We would love for your organization to march in our parade, host an activity at the field day, or financially sponsor a portion of these activities. Business have the opportunity to sell their items or host an activity table during the field day.

Other events are being planned by the Committee that your organization is welcome to participate in as well. An Anti-Prohibition Tour of local bars & restaurants is being planned for one evening this summer. A Fall Gala Ball is tentatively scheduled for September 21st. Many local organizations hold other annual and special events. We hope you will consider dedicating some of those events to the 375th Anniversary and are happy to consider co-sponsoring any event with you/or list them in the calendar of 375th events. We are co-sponsoring the annual fireworks display held on June 22nd (rain date June 23rd) with Hull Youth Football. In addition, please, consider adding the tag line “Celebrating Hull’s 375th“ to help us get the word out that everyone is celebrating this milestone.

If your organization would like to participate and learn more about the Parade, Field Day or other events, please consider attending a meeting at the Memorial Middle School on Thursday, May 23rd at 7 p.m.If you cannot attend but would like to participate in the parade please, email Kathiemn@verizon.net or rhodabk@gmail.com . If you are interested in the Field Day, please email Sheri & Peter Boretti at pboretti@mortgagecorpeast.com or sheribo@comcast.net. Any other questions can be directed to John Reilly at jdr64@aol.com . Our committee meetings are posted on the Town’s website and are generally held alternating Tuesdays at 6 p.m., please feel free to join us at any time.

Here’s to a Hull of a 375th!!!
