Town-wide Christmas Tree Collection Schedule




2017 Town-Wide Christmas Tree Collection
 
The Department of Public Works announces the annual Christmas tree collection in Hull will begin on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

The following guidelines will be followed regarding the collection of trees this year:

·       All trees must be at the side of the roadway by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.

·       All metal and ornaments must be removed from the tree.

·       No wreaths of any kind will be collected.

The following dates for collections will be followed as closely as possible:

            Tuesday, January 2, 2018:                  Pemberton to X Street

            Wednesday, January 3, 2018:            X Street to A Street

            Thursday, January 4, 2018:                A Street to Monument Square

            Friday, January 5, 2018:                     Whitehead Ave. to Wharf Ave.

            Monday, January 8, 2018:                  Wharf Ave. to Hingham/Cohasset line
                                                                         including Rockaway and Rockaway Annex.

This collection schedule will be adhered to as closely as possible.  Weather conditions will play an important part in adhering to this schedule.  Any delays caused by weather will result in an adjustment to the pick-up days.

Residents may drop off trees at the Hull DPW, located at 9 Nantasket Avenue, between the hours of 8:00am and 3:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am and 11:30am on Friday.  Please be aware that construction vehicles are frequently entering and exiting the stockyard area, so use caution.

IN EFFECT FROM:

12/1/17 THROUGH 3/31/18
On-street parking is prohibited on the following streets between the hours of

1:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
 
Nantasket Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Spring Street, Main Street

All other streets:

During inclement weather, parking will be allowed on the odd numbered side of each street, except in areas where such parking is always prohibited.

This will provide for orderly snow removal/sanding/salting operations as well as free flow of traffic, especially emergency vehicles.

Failure to comply with the codes of the Town of Hull Chapter 155 Section 19, regarding impeding snow removal will result in parking violation fines and/or towing of the offending vehicles at the owner’s expense.
(After due prior notice to owners when it is practicable to do so.)
