Good Morning Everyone,
I guess a look outside tells the story :))...We will watch the next few high tides for possible minor coastal impacts, the winds will be like this for the next 24-hrs or so.

As predicted the change of wind direction from easterly to the north will help front facing beach surges, erosion and knock down the waves a bit.

There were some tree's that fell into power lines, the Hull Light crews made quick work of the issues to assure no power was lost.

Have a safe day, please use caution during the next high tide around 12pm today if you venture out for a view.

The Department of Public Works is pleased to announce that the Fall Chip Day will be held from 8:00AM until NOON on Saturday October 14, 2017 at the Public Works Barn.

Residents may bring in tree limbs and brush (8-inch diameter or less only).

LEAVES, GRASS, VINES, STUMPS OR ANYTHING WITH A STUMP OR PORTION OF A STUMP ATTACHED TO IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Vehicles larger than a standard pick-up truck will not be allowed. Landscapers and contractors will be limited to one (1) pick-up truck only.

Participants should remain in their vehicles and let the DPW staff remove the limbs and brush from the vehicle.

There is NO CHARGE for this disposal but is open to Hull residents only.

There has been some changes in the storm and its impacts on Hull..please see below:
The impacts will begin early day tomorrow, winds will be strongest on Wednesday with a forecast of 40-50mph sustained and greater gusts. Moderate beach erosion, wave heights of 8-15' and extremely dangerous rip currents. I will have a firmed up status report tomorrow after the 12:30 conference call with local,state and federal agencies.

But, you should prepare for moderate flooding in low lying area's during the high tide cycles midday Wednesday and during the evening high tide as well. There is also a good chance for loss of power with the sustained winds predicted and tree's holding heavy foliage.

At 11am EDT, Hurricane Jose was located 265 miles east-southeast of Cape Hatteras North Carolina with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and a minimum central pressure of 977 mb.
Jose is moving toward the north near 9 mph and this general motion is expected to continue during the next day or so. A turn to the northeast is expected to occur on Tuesday night. On the forecast track, the center of Jose is forecast to pass well offshore of the Outer Banks of North Carolina today, pass well east of the Delmarva peninsula tonight and Tuesday, and pass well to the east of the New Jersey coast on Wednesday. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

* Total rain accumulations of 3 to 5 inches over eastern Long Island, southeast Connecticut, southern Rhode Island, and southeast Massachusetts, including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket through Wednesday.
* Total rain accumulations up to 2 inches along the mid-Atlantic coast, and from southeast New York to coastal Maine.
This rainfall could cause isolated flooding.
