Snow Row Cancelled

Hello all Snow Row Rowers!                                                                          June 15, 2020

As you may have noticed, the snow has melted and we have yet to hold the Snow Row event. The
original two-week Covid19 shutdown has turned into three months and counting, with each state
slowly allowing increased activities as each state sees fit. We are, at this time, quite frankly at
a loss in trying to determine when it is going to be safe to go rowing again in boats with more
than one rower. With that being stated we are canceling the 2020 Snow Row and hope to run our fall
events in a safe format as the Covid19 situation may allow.

With this cancellation there is the dilemma of refunds. As stated in our earlier communications,
the decision to postpone the event came on the eve of the event as the virus situation rapidly
developed and the seriousness of its effects and ease of transmission became apparent. So, all of
the hats, T-shirts, food, utensils, etc. had been purchased and were on site. Essentially, all of
the money collected for registration was spent. With this being the situation, we can offer the
following options:

1.   Hats and T-shirts: Anyone who wants to pick up their hats and T-shirts may do so at the
museum. In order to pick up, you will need to contact me by email or phone with a proposed pick up
time. Please arrive with a mask on and I will do the same. I will greet you at the door and hand
you the hats and T-Shirts. For those who cannot pick up the hats and T-shirts in person, we will
have them with a distribution list at future events or if that will not work contact me and we will
figure out a way to get them to you.
2.   Donations: For those who are in a position to do so, we kindly ask that you consider
converting your entry fee into a
donation. This will help the museum wrestle through the financial storm that has accompanied the
pandemic. If you do convert to a donation, we will send you a $10 discount certificate for the next
HLM rowing event! Just send me an email with your intention to donate.
           a.    For those who never got to register:  Click here to make a $45 donation and you to will get  a $10 discount certificate for the next HLM rowing event.
3.   Refunds: If you would prefer to have a refund, we will honor your request. We especially
understand that the registration fee may present a hardship for youth groups where the participants
are moving on from their rowing programs and they will likely not be participating in future events
with their respective rowing clubs.

Please contact me by email regarding the above proposed solutions and we will act accordingly.

In as much as we did not cause the pandemic and had no way of forecasting an outright cancellation
of the Snow Row, we apologize for any inconvenience the situation may have caused and are committed to continuing our long and great relationship with the rowing community.

Please stay safe and we will see you all soon out on the water!

Best regards,
