Use Caution Swimming In Hull Bay and Nantasket Beach

Use Caution Swimming In Hull Bay and Nantasket Beach

Numerous Lion’s Mane jellyfish have been spotted last week in Hull Bay and Nantasket Beach, including the Weir River. The jellyfish spotted have a brownish red body with a diameter of 4 to 12 inches, with long brownish tentacles.
Please exercise caution when swimming or wading into the water. Also avoid contact with any jellyfish that have washed up on the beach. A sting from this type of jellyfish will produce soreness and possible rash on the skin that has come in contact with the tentacles.

Should you be stung and you feel you are in need of medical assistance, please call the local emergency service by dialing 911.
