ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION WORK NOTICE

October - November 2020

 

 

WHAT:  Roadway paving.

 

WHERE:  Highland Ave, Newton St, Western Ave, Andrew Ave, Vautrinot Ave and Mt. Pleasant Ave

 

WHEN:  Construction will be continuing through October and into November, weather dependent. Schedule of work is approximate and detailed on the reverse of this leaflet. Work hours are 7am – 5 pm.

 

WHY:  To make repairs and improvements to the roadway.

 

WHO:  T.L. Edwards (Contractor) and BETA Group (Engineer)

 

Impact on Area:  All vehicles must be removed from the street by 7:00  AM each morning.  Expect traffic detours/delays. Street parking will not be permitted during construction activities. Access to driveways will be limited during construction activities-please plan accordingly. Expect construction noise. Police details will be onsite and will direct local traffic as needed.

 

This information will also be posted on the Town of Hull website at www.town.hull.ma.us and Facebook page at www.facebook.com/town-of-hull.  In addition, Code Red messages will be issued for the neighborhood.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Why is the Town completing this Project?

A:        The Town’s infrastructure is aging, and the roadway in this area is in need of rehabilitation.

 

Q: How will my property be impacted?

A:        The Contractor may need to access your property to reconstruct a few feet of your driveway and/or walkway so that there will be a smooth transition between your drive/walk and the roadway.  Also, the contractor may need to disturb the first few feet of your lawn due so that there will be a smooth transition between the road and your lawn.  The contractor will restore these areas as required.

 

Q.  Will there be any excavation?

A:        There will be shallow excavation (1 foot or less) for the reconstruction of driveway aprons, if necessary.

 

Q: What is the schedule?

A:        The following schedule is tentative and is weather dependent. The approximate schedule of this work is as follows:

·        Commencing on or about Wednesday, Oct 21 to Monday, Oct 26th :-Leveling course paving

·        Week of October 26th :- Raise drainage & utility covers and grates

·        Week of November 2nd- Final paving

 

Q: Who will be coming to the neighborhood?

A:        T.L. Edwards will be completing this work.  All Contractors will be clearly identified by their company credentials or town contractor identification and vehicles. The Town of Hull Police Details will be onsite assisting in traffic control and pedestrian access while work is being completed.
